Employability with Crafts Sessional Tutor — £29.78 per hour. Based in North Yorkshire.

The WEA is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education, a charity dedicated to bringing high quality, professional education into the heart of communities. We are looking for talented individuals to help us deliver our mission – to bring education within reach.

We are looking to recruit staff to join our sessional pool. Our sessional pool is key to delivering our course offer. The number of working hours per day and/or term will depend on the requirements of the business. This is not a full time, permanent role.

Responsibilities

  • As a Sessional Tutor, you will provide engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach to teaching.
  • Adapt to a range of learning styles, and differentiate delivery to learners with mixed abilities to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding.
  • Ensure the highest possible quality teaching and learning to a group of learners.

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET or equivalent), level 5 specialism (IQA and Assessor qualifications would be advantageous).
  • Experience in design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Experience in a range of initial assessment and diagnostic tools.
  • A thorough understanding of RARPA as well as the EIF and the quality processes that underpin delivery.
  • Experience of working with adults in hard-to-reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education.
  • Strong working knowledge of OFSTED’s Education Inspection Framework.
  • A strong team work ethic and ability to collaborate and support colleagues.
  • A passion for adult education and making a difference.
