Overview

Sessional Tutor — £29.78 — Online delivery to deliver any of the following courses:

  • An introduction to the modern history of Ukraine (since 1990)
  • An introduction to the modern history of Russia (since 1980)
  • Back in the USSR: Russian Life and Culture during the first cold war
  • Back in the USSR: The Collapse of the USSR
  • Back in the USSR: Post Soviet Russia and the rise of Putinism

About the Organisation

The WEA is the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education, a charity dedicated to bringing high quality, professional education into the heart of communities. We are recruiting to join our sessional pool to deliver on our brand new WEA Learn courses. WEA Learn provides online access to our History, Art Appreciation, and Literature courses, and we seek enthusiastic, passionate tutors who can offer fresh perspectives and new ways to explore cultural learning themes online. Job Description

As a Sessional Tutor on our WEA Learn courses, you will provide engaging teaching and learning online, with a creative and supportive approach to learning. You will be an expert in your subject and passionate about delivery, adapting to a range of learning styles while ensuring the highest possible quality teaching and learning for a group of learners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engaging online teaching and learning with a creative and supportive approach.
  • Adapt to a range of learning styles and ensure high-quality teaching and learning for learners.

Qualifications

  • A passion for adult education and making a difference.
  • A strong teamwork ethic; collaboration and support within the team.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering quality online teaching and learning, bringing the subject to life for a range of learners using online tools and techniques.
  • Curiosity and a desire to experiment; we have big ambitions.
  • Experience in design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans.
  • Teaching qualification (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent), level 5 specialism (IQA and Assessor qualifications would be advantageous).
  • Experience of working with adults who may face multiple barriers to lifelong learning.
  • Strong working knowledge of OFSTED’s Education Inspection Framework.
  • A thorough understanding of educational quality processes.
