About The Role
Siltbuster is looking for a dynamic and experienced Key Account Manager to support our Infrastructure Wastewater Treatment Sector operations. This role can be national although proximity to Monmouth would be preferred, but not essential. The successful Key Account Manager will develop and grow the business by identifying and securing new business opportunities, building long‑term strategic relationships and managing key accounts with partners and clients. This role works collaboratively but not in isolation, it is part of a wider team of Sales Engineers who you will support to identify and close business opportunities. The role additionally has the support of an excellent back‑office team. Travel and occasional stays away from home are a regular part of the job.
Reporting to the Sector Manager, the initial key responsibilities will include:
- Own and execute Key Account development strategies aligned with the sector plan and objectives
- Own, lead and be accountable for a defined portfolio of Tier 1 Water Indirect contractor accounts, acting as the primary commercial and relationship lead for Siltbuster within those organisations
- Manage and develop Key Relationships, focusing on account growth and long‑term relationship building
- Drive Brand Visibility & Identity
- Collaborate closely with Technical Sales and internal stakeholders to grow existing client relationships, develop commercial arrangements, and lead or support high‑quality technical and commercial tender submissions
- Staying informed about industry trends, market activities, and competitors to identify new business opportunities
- Learn cross‑departmental specific skills and activities as applicable
About You
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about making a difference in the water‑environmental sector, with a practical and positive outlook. Proven experience within Account Management, preferably within the technical or Engineering sectors of the Water Industry. You will have a strong commercial acumen and know‑how of the sales lifecycle from conception to delivery. You will also have a demonstrated ability to manage and grow large accounts, with a focus on long‑term client relationships and key account management. Willingness and ability to travel to support your customers with their requirements and maintain key relationships is paramount.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in key account management
- Extensive experience in business development or technical sales role exploring and securing business opportunities, managing resources, developing and managing clients, partners, agents and contracts
- Strong understanding of UK and European water / environmental legislation, directives, and frameworks
- Outstanding planning and organising skills, ensuring efficient and effective daily time management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent analysis, data interpretation and technical skills to identify project / client needs
- Extensive understanding of the key elements associated with wastewater treatment and applicable design standards is preferential
- Competent in the use of Office 365, notably Excel and Word
- Full UK driving licence with 6 points or less is required for this role
