Overview
We are looking for a Yard Supervisor to join our friendly team at our branch in Liverpool (Speke).
This role provides vital support to branch operations and is yard-based, supervising and assisting with various duties in conjunction with loading and unloading lorries to ensure timely delivery of pumps and associated equipment to meet customer expectations.

Responsibilities
- Continually look for ways to improve Health & Safety and efficiency by reporting hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents promptly and according to company procedures.
- Keep yards and workshops clean, tidy and organised at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading of vehicles, check items against paperwork for accuracy of deliveries and collections, and identify missing or damaged items and fuel charges on collected equipment.
- Carry out Post Hires for equipment such as pumps, road ramps, drip trays and other fleet items.
- Organise hose and accessory storage, monitor stock levels, and communicate about scrap stock for disposal.
- Assist other depot staff with tasks as required (lifting, moving, in depot or on-site).
- Help clean hire equipment prior to entry to workshop using pressure washer equipment and supervise kit and yard team in cleaning.
- Be polite and cooperative with stakeholders and promote the company when outside the branch.
- Communicate accurately to your supervisor, colleagues and customers regarding job specifications, ETAs, missing or damaged items, and obtain signatures/names on deliveries/collections.
- Ensure direct reports are trained and competent; identify gaps in knowledge and raise them to Branch Management.
- Perform daily yard safety checks, identify hazards/risks, and report/remediate as required.
- Relay key site movement information (including toolbox talks) to the yard team and embed it into ways of working.
- Comply with PPE requirements for Selwood or site regulations and ensure the yard team also complies.
- Carry out tasks in accordance with Company Policy Procedures and applicable standards.
- Prepare ancillaries and accessories for all jobs going out on hire.
- Conduct stock checks at least weekly or as required for the branch.
- Carry out small deliveries and collections to or from customer sites, suppliers or inter-branch.
- Maintain stocking of gasket, nut & bolt sets.
- Flexibility to support the team by working overtime as required (evenings and weekends).
- Participate in the on-call rota if required by the branch to meet business deliverables.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous work history within a similar environment.
- Good communicator with a can-do attitude.
- Experience in working in a team with supervising experience preferred.
- Forklift Licence would be preferred.
- Rigger, loading or banksman training would be advantageous.
- Reliability is essential for this position.
- Basic use of Office Suite.
- Physically fit due to the nature of the work.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
