About the Role
The Engagement Manager will lead customer engagements, act as an AI technology expert, and be responsible for customers realizing value after go‑live.
The role involves high ownership and influence, shaping how enterprise customers adopt Workday's AI products and platform, informing product and service evolution, and collaborating with a talented peer group.
Responsibilities
- End‑to‑end responsibility for several customers, starting with product deployment and throughout the lifecycle of the partnership.
- Ensure that Workday's enterprise customers get the most value out of the AI products.
- Ensure retention and identify upsell opportunities.
- Manage timelines, risks, and cross‑functional coordination to ensure smooth delivery and long‑term adoption across large‑scale deployments.
- Act as the AI specialist by guiding and enabling customers through an AI transformation, including working closely with C‑level executives on AI strategy and transformation.
- Implement change management best practices and educate end users on Workday AI.
- Identify, prioritize, and deploy AI use cases.
- Understand customers' business models and how to deliver value with a horizontal AI platform.
- Understand each team's pain points and user problems, and solve them with Workday AI solutions.
- Lead one or more implementations concurrently, ensuring successful delivery within the budget and time outlined in the SOW.
- Participate in the sales cycle when requested to gather requirements, formulate delivery approach, and develop a proposal/SOW.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to Professional Services resources working on implementations.
- Ensure projects are properly planned and staffed, identify and resolve issues that could impact scope or timelines.
- Present at Executive Steering Committee meetings and lead Quarterly Business Reviews.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise application implementation (Workday, Oracle, Net Suite, SAP, Cornerstone, or similar) or top‑tier strategy consulting, venture capital, or a commercial/strategy/ops role in a startup or scale‑up.
- Demonstrable experience leading medium and/or large enterprise implementations or transformation initiatives.
- Proven record of solving open‑ended, unstructured problems without a prior blueprint.
- Demonstrated ability to move from strategy to execution, putting new deployment methodologies into practice.
- Strong desire to build hands‑on capability quickly, including configuring applications to meet customer requirements.
- Structured problem‑solving skills: break ambiguous goals into solvable parts and drive execution.
- Fast to learn: rapidly absorb new domains (sales, marketing, product) and apply insights effectively.
- Vision selling: persuasive communicator who can sell prospects and partners on the company's mission and potential.
- Collaboration: work closely with product, marketing, and leadership to translate hypotheses into experiments.
- Client facing: manage complex client situations, command rooms of large groups, and demonstrate executive presence.
Compensation
Base salary range: €82,600–€124,000per year (Germany). The role may also be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan, role‑specific commission/bonus, and annual refresh stock grants.
Flexible Work
We combine in‑person and remote work, spending at least 50% of time each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners.
