Kernohan Distribution is a specialist distributor of bathroom, electrical, plumbing, heating and ventilation products, supplying trade customers across Great Britain and Ireland. We represent and supply a range of trusted brands, including AEG, Candy, HETA, Hoover and Villeroy & Boch. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Bangor.

The Role

Reporting to the Transport & Warehouse Manager, you will play an important role in the smooth and efficient running of our warehouse and the preparation of customer deliveries. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Safely operating counterbalance forklifts to move, load, unload, stack and store goods
  • Selecting and preparing products for delivery
  • Loading vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring all items are accounted for
  • Checking goods and orders for accuracy
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment
  • Following all company procedures, health & safety policies and statutory requirements
  • Supporting the day-to-day operation of a busy warehouse
  • Working effectively as part of the wider warehouse and transport team

Essential Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Good communication skills
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to working safely

This is a full-time position, and flexibility together with the willingness to work overtime when required is essential.

Desirable Requirements

The following would be advantageous:

  • A valid Reach Forklift Licence
  • Previous experience working in a busy warehouse or distribution environment
  • Experience loading vehicles and preparing orders for delivery
  • Experience working with warehouse racking systems
