The Systems Engineering, Validation & Verification group is recruiting Systems Engineering & Verification Engineers to fulfil exciting roles across our Defence Programmes. In all areas, these roles involve working with a range of key business stakeholders to support the delivery of key programme milestones, thus enabling the delivery of our Defence Combat strategy for the next 50 years.
As a Systems Engineering & Verification Engineer you will be the focal point for understanding and developing new engineering products and services. You will be expected to interface across a number of stakeholders both internally and externally within the company to extract and understand technical requirements and work alongside these stakeholders to develop potential solutions which can be used to serve business and customer needs. You will be exploring and developing new system engineering practices within the company such as the use of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to assist in the understanding of potential business and technical architectures and solutions.

What you will be doing:
- Lead Systems Engineering across the entire life-cycle.
- Integrate with and provide systems engineering coaching or training to engineers from other functions.
- Facilitate the elicitation, maturation and validation of stakeholder requirements including customer, business, and technical to ensure robust problem and solution space understanding.
- Establish and maintain an appropriate information structure for the project (Customer, Business, System, Sub-System, and Component) and develop / maintain associated management plans.
- Represent Rolls-Royce as required on specific customer and partner working groups related to the project.
- Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and timescale) are identified, managed, and escalated in accordance with risk management plan.
- Develop product verification strategies and compliance statements.
- Deploy and evaluate new SE tools, such as MBSE, on agreed programmes.

- Be qualified to degree level in a STEM subject and with experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls).
- Be capable of systems level thinking and have evidence of their experience deploying Systems Engineering techniques to solve complex problems.
- Have evidence of their ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across different engineering disciplines.
- Preferably have a broad understanding of Gas Turbine functional operation and physical characteristics.
- Preferably have experience using Systems Engineering tools such as IBM DOORS or Cameo Systems Modeller and knowledge of standards such as ARP4754A/ED-79A.
To work for Rolls-Royce Defence you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets, you must be eligible for SC Clearance. Dual nationals may require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with Rolls Royce Defence.
