A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated Stockperson to join our team at Strawfrank Pedigrees. This role focuses on the daily care and management of our pedigree Limousin herd and our small flock of pedigree Texel sheep. We are looking for a passionate individual with an eye for quality and a commitment to high standards of livestock husbandry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on, day-to-day management of both the pedigree Limousin herd and Texel flock.
  • Assisting with calving, lambing, breeding programmes, and herd/flock health planning.
  • Managing feeding regimes, forage utilisation, and grassland management to peak standards.
  • Preparing and presenting livestock for sales and shows to showcase pedigree quality.
  • Maintaining accurate record keeping and performance monitoring for pedigree registrations.
  • Ensuring the operation and maintenance of relevant farm and livestock machinery.
  • Upholding and ensuring high welfare and farm assurance standards across the enterprise.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in cattle and sheep husbandry (pedigree experience is highly advantageous).
  • Strong attention to detail and a highly self-motivated work ethic.
  • A can-do attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to meet the seasonal demands of calving, lambing, and the show/sale circuit.
  • Full UK driving licence. HGV advantageous.
