At STAR Housing, we manage around 4,000 homes across Shropshire and are committed to providing quality homes and vibrant communities.

We are now looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance Team and play a key role in ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of both STAR Housing and Cornovii Developments Ltd.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with strategic financial planning and business partnering.

About the Role Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial accounting services whilst leading the development and maintenance of business plans that support long-term organisational sustainability.

You'll provide insightful financial analysis, forecasting and modelling to inform strategic decisions and help us plan for future challenges and opportunities.

You'll be involved in a broad range of responsibilities including: Leading financial planning and business plan development for the Housing Revenue Account and Cornovii Developments Ltd.

Producing management accounts, forecasts and financial reports.

Supporting strategic decision-making through financial modelling and analysis.

Managing VAT, tax and statutory reporting requirements.

Leading on year-end accounts and supporting audit activities.

Supporting budget setting, rent setting and business plan refresh processes.

Monitoring financial performance and cash flow.

Line managing the Financial Accounts Assistant and contributing to the wider development of the finance function.

About You We're looking for a proactive and analytical finance professional who can balance attention to detail with a strategic outlook.

You will be someone who: Has strong financial accounting and reporting experience.

Can interpret complex financial information and communicate it clearly.

Enjoys using data and financial insight to support decision-making.

Has experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

Understands financial governance, controls and compliance requirements.

Builds positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
