The Role
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of new products and the enhancement of existing mobile recycling machinery. Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will work within defined timescales to deliver innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new products and modify existing designs to meet customer needs.
- Adhere to industry standards such as QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development, and field testing.
- Ensure all products meet safety, functionality, and reliability standards.
- Collaborate with production, purchasing, and suppliers to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Stay updated on industry trends and integrate the latest technologies into designs.
The Person
We are looking for a motivated and creative individual with a strong engineering background and a passion for innovation.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with experience in mobile tracked equipment design.
- Proficiency in 3D Solid Modeling CAD (preferably CREO) and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
- Strong technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with mobile recycling machinery.
- Knowledge of Oracle TMS.
- Ability to assess workload, meet deadlines, and manage risks effectively.
