We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a busy and commercially focused finance team. This is a varied role combining management accounting, financial analysis and business partnering. You will support the delivery of accurate and timely monthly financial results while providing analysis and insight to help inform business decisions. You will work closely with colleagues across different areas of the business and have the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and wider finance projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain and improve financial and analytical models to support business decision making.
- Carry out financial analysis across areas including pricing, margins, operational performance, costs and stock.
- Support the month end process, including provisions, prepayments, accruals and depreciation.
- Prepare monthly management reporting packs and support the preparation of quarterly reporting for senior management.
- Undertake overhead and cost analysis, along with other financial analysis as required.
- Support the Finance Manager with statutory audit requirements and relevant financial reporting.
- Provide support and guidance to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable colleagues, particularly around process improvements, system changes and troubleshooting.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and controls.
- Participate in finance projects and other assignments across management and financial accounting.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to provide accurate and commercially useful financial information.
- Carry out other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the role as required.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential:
- Previous experience in a management accounting or similar finance role.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or a similar system would be advantageous.
- Experience working in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of management and financial accounting principles.
Desirable:
- Part-qualified, qualified or currently studying towards an accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
