The role at Ffern is a sustainable, mission-driven fragrance brand and technology is at the heart of how we grow. We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join one of our cross-functional product pods. You'll sit inside a small, focused team of engineers, designers, and growth leads, taking full ownership of revenue-driving customer journeys across acquisition, retention, and lifecycle. Expect fast, iterative work, A/B testing, continuous improvement, and staying close to what you ship.
The work involves:
- Taking full ownership of at least one core customer journey from architecture through to post-release monitoring.
- Working closely with design and growth to design and implement experiments across acquisition, retention, and lifecycle.
- Constantly improving your area of ownership, both technically and from a growth perspective.
- Supporting fellow engineers across pods.
Our stack includes a monorepo architecture managed by Turborepo, with core technologies such as Next.js, PostgreSQL (via Supabase), QStash, Redis, Sanity, Prisma, and Growthbook. We deploy daily and keep our CI/CD lean.
What we need:
- 4+ years as a full-stack engineer, ideally with D2C or e-commerce experience.
- Experience shipping A/B tests to production.
- Comfort with uncertainty and a strong drive to get things over the line.
Beyond the technical skills, senior engineers at Ffern are:
- Owners - they take a feature from brief to production without being chased.
- Rigorous testers - they QA their own work and their colleagues'.
- Observant - they add logging, monitor post-release, and use feature flags as standard.
- AI-curious - they actively use AI tools to work faster and smarter.
- Multipliers - they make the engineers around them better.
We're a small, ambitious team building something genuinely different in the fragrance world. The work is high impact, the stack is modern, and there's real ownership on offer from day one.

How to prepare for a job interview at Workcircle
✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Workcircle uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
✨Showcase Your Projects
Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.
✨Prepare for Behavioural Questions
While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
