Your new role
As a Part-Time Production Team Leader, you will support the launch of a new production line and increased volumes at a busy manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of operators across weekend shifts, ensuring the safe, efficient and high-quality running of production. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving performance, maintaining quality standards and fostering a positive, engaged team culture.
- Lead, motivate and engage a production team, driving collaboration and performance.
- Build team capability through training, coaching, onboarding and performance management.
- Ensure all products meet quality standards and comply with GMP requirements.
- Champion health & safety, conducting risk assessments and ensuring safe working practices.
- Deliver the production plan, ensuring output targets are consistently achieved.
- Use short interval control and performance data to drive operational efficiency.
- Develop, implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify, escalate and resolve production issues relating to process, quality, equipment or safety.
- Oversee start-ups, changeovers and shift handovers to ensure smooth operations.
- Drive continuous improvement using lean methodologies and structured problem-solving tools.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing advantageous).
- Proven team leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of production processes and operational performance.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement techniques.
- Good analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret production data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels.
