- Position Type: Permanent, full time, day worker, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible (hours can be negotiated with the successful applicant).

The Position
As Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) at West Coast District Hospital, you will provide expert clinical leadership and consultancy across inpatient and emergency services. This role is pivotal in supporting safe, high-quality care and driving continuous improvement in clinical practice.
Within a safety and quality framework and in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and Director of Nursing – West Coast (DON), you will:
- Deliver advanced clinical expertise and guidance to nursing and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, safety, and service delivery.
- Support the development and implementation of clinical standards, protocols, and quality improvement strategies.
- Act as a resource and mentor for staff, promoting evidence-based practice and clinical excellence.

You Will Need
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
- Holds, or is working towards, relevant postgraduate qualifications (desirable).
- Advanced Clinical Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in rural health nursing, contemporary nursing issues and the coordination of nursing practice, together with a demonstrated commitment to the understanding of primary health care principles and practice and the ability to apply these requirements in a leadership role within a rural health emergency and inpatient setting.
- Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead clinical initiatives, mentor staff, and contribute to strategic planning and service development.
- Quality & Safety Focus: Experience in implementing and evaluating clinical governance frameworks, quality improvement programs, and risk management strategies.
- Collaboration & Communication: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders in improving care outcomes.
