Location: Queenstown, Tasmania

Position Type: Permanent, full time shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: 109,767 to 115,813 pro rata, per annum (pro rata) with a 12% superannuation contribution. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Visa sponsorship and relocation support available for eligible UK/IE candidates.

The Position:

  • As Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide clinical and operational leadership across inpatient and emergency services.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Coordinating day-to-day patient care activities and supporting patient flow.
    • Providing high-level clinical knowledge and acting as a resource and role model for staff.
    • Supporting the NUM in managing staffing, resources, and service delivery.
    • Promoting a collaborative, professional team environment and a positive workplace culture.
    • Assisting with the development and review of protocols, guidelines, and quality improvement strategies.
    • Identifying and mitigating clinical risks and supporting safety and compliance initiatives.

You Will Need:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated experience in the relevant practice area, with the ability to provide clinical leadership and work with minimal supervision.
  • Understanding of patient flow, discharge planning, and resource management within a contemporary healthcare framework.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and support a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong understanding of clinical risk, safety and quality systems, and the ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
