Job Description General Machinist Derby Full Time An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of General Machinists to join our team in Mainline Shafts (DSFT), within the Rotatives Supply Chain Unit based in Derby.

You will operate in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment and be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements.

Your role as a turning machine operator will involve working on some of the latest machining platforms in Rolls Royce producing various shaft components across all the major engine projects, your role will also involve working with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment Why join Rolls-Royce?

Key

Accountabilities: Work to Rolls-Royce Technical Instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high quality machining across a variety of different components and product families.

Operate a variety of Inspection equipment, including machine probing, micrometres, plug gauges.

The interpretation of manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications.

The assessment of whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.

Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to plan.

Required Skills and Experience : NVQ Level 3 or time served engineering apprenticeship.

Previous experience with aerospace components would be preferable Prior experience on 5 axis machine centres and/or Siemens controls would be preferable Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.

Looking for candidates who are pro-active and patient individuals that are capable of managing their time effectively.
