As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, energetic and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our friendly finance team at our Conlig Head Office, conveniently located just off the Bangor-Ards dual carriageway.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Finance & Commercial Director, you will become an important part of our small, friendly and supportive finance team. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to take responsibility for a range of day-to-day finance activities and make a real contribution to the business from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Bank Management
- Manage daily banking transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and investigate any discrepancies
- Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date
- Accounts Payable
- Process and code supplier invoices
- Verify invoice approvals
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Prepare and process BACS payment runs
- Accounts Receivable
- Generate and process customer invoices
- Monitor outstanding balances and aged debt
- Assist with credit control when required, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach
- Month-End Support
- Assist with month-end preparation and reconciliations
- Support the Finance & Commercial Director with month-end activities
- Reporting
- Prepare accurate reports and information for the Finance and Sales teams
- Assist with general finance administration and ad-hoc reporting as required
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and detail-focused, with the confidence to work independently while also being a strong team player. You will have:
- Previous experience working in a finance or bookkeeping role
- Experience using a computerised accounting system
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
- The confidence to work independently when required
- A positive, energetic approach and willingness to support colleagues
- The ability to work effectively as part of a small and friendly team
- The right to work in the United Kingdom
Required Experience
- 2 years' experience in a similar finance or bookkeeping role
- 2 years' experience using a computerised accounting system
- 2 years' proven experience working in a commercial environment
