About the Role: As a Class 1 Driver, you will:

  • Perform a wide range of transport duties including long-distance trunking, pallet network trunking, multi-drop customer deliveries, and handling curtain-sided trailers.
  • Provide transportation services for multiple clients operating from the depot, ensuring each customer's specific handling and delivery requirements are met with professionalism and care.
  • Operate both curtain-sided and refrigerated vehicles as required, ensuring correct loading, temperature control (where applicable), and secure transportation of goods.
  • Conduct thorough daily vehicle inspections using the company-issued mobile device, reporting any defects or issues promptly in line with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Maintain communication with the transport coordination team to provide real-time updates on delivery progress, delays, or issues.
  • Support the team in managing customer expectations and ensuring high service standards.
  • Attend all scheduled training sessions, including health and safety, compliance, and professional development courses, to maintain up-to-date knowledge and adhere to industry best practices.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Experience of delivering loads directly to client sites is advantageous.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite, and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
