We are recruiting for a Finishing Pig Farm Manager in Hampshire, SP6. This unit was recently acquired and is now part of a family-run business with the vision and resources to invest significantly in its facilities and employees. They are specifically looking for someone who can run the day-to-day management of the unit.
Main duties:
- Manage all full-time staff on the unit
- Responsible for the condition of livestock on the unit - feeding, moving, serving, treating, vaccinating and handling the pigs
- Ensure that animal welfare is in accordance with company standards
- Ensure that all equipment/farm machinery is used safely and remains in good condition at all times
- Have overall site responsibility
- Manage and complete weekly paperwork and keep records up to date at all times
- Work with your team to meet designated performance targets, managing the performance of staff and pig production to bring about the best results
Candidate specifications:
- Experience with finishing and pig unit management
- The ability to prioritise and complete tasks fully with strong attention to detail is a must
- You must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to exceed expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Driving license
Salary: £40,000+ DOE
