MCS Group are proud to be partnering with a public sector organisation in their search for a Finance Business Partner. This opportunity is ideal for a qualified accountant with strong financial planning and management reporting experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence decision-making at a senior level.
The Role:
- Co-ordinate the development of long-term financial plans, budgets and forecasts.
- Produce monthly management accounts, financial reports and variance analysis, presenting key findings to senior stakeholders.
- Provide financial advice and business partnering support to budget holders, challenging where appropriate to support effective decision-making.
- Support the development of business cases, investment appraisals and capital planning activities.
- Analyse financial and performance data to identify trends, efficiencies and opportunities for cost savings.
- Complete financial returns and support regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with governance and audit requirements.
- Utilise advanced Excel and financial systems to produce accurate financial information and support reporting requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing financial processes, systems and organisational performance.
The Person
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
- Post-qualification experience in a similar finance role (or equivalent combination of relevant experience).
- Demonstrable experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and business partnering.
- Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders at a senior level.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis.
