About the role
A permanent opportunity is available for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a transport operation based in the Yeovil area. This is a day-shift role with regular tramper work, offering £17 per hour and weekly pay every Wednesday.
Key responsibilities
- Driving an HGV Class 1 vehicle safely and responsibly
- Completing planned deliveries and collections
- Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Securing loads correctly and completing delivery paperwork
- Maintaining good communication with transport teams and customers
- Working flexibly as part of a tramper operation
- Following road transport, health and safety, and legal requirements
Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence
- CPC and digital tachograph card
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience
- Experience of tramper work, or a strong willingness to undertake it
- Good knowledge of driver-hours regulations
- Safe, professional and reliable approach to driving
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to complete vehicle checks and delivery documentation accurately
