The company is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to support its transport and logistics operations. This is a daytime trunking role based in Yate, suitable for a reliable driver with a professional approach and a strong focus on safe, efficient deliveries.
About the company
The company operates in the pallet supply and recycling sector, providing wooden, plastic, refurbished and bespoke pallets alongside collection and recycling services. It also produces recycled wood products and supports deliveries and collections across regional areas from its South Gloucestershire base.
Key responsibilities
- Complete trunking work safely and efficiently
- Carry out vehicle checks before and after journeys
- Transport loads in line with delivery schedules and instructions
- Secure loads correctly and follow relevant transport and road safety requirements
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate records
- Communicate professionally with the transport team and customers where required
- Report any vehicle, load or delivery issues promptly
Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence
- Relevant professional driving experience
- Experience of trunking work
- Good knowledge of safe loading and load security
- Strong understanding of drivers’ hours and road safety requirements
- Reliable, punctual and flexible approach
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
