About the company
Based in Wakefield, the employer operates in the bathroom and tile sector, supplying products and supporting customers with bathroom design, showroom advice and installation services. Its work includes the distribution of bathroom furniture, tiles, fixtures and fittings to customers and project locations across the UK.
The role
We are looking for a reliable 7.5 Tonne Driver to support daytime delivery operations in and around Wakefield. This temporary position would suit an experienced delivery driver who takes pride in safe, professional and customer-focused service.
Key responsibilities
- Drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle safely and responsibly
- Complete deliveries to customers, sites and other locations
- Load, secure and unload goods carefully
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately
- Plan routes effectively and meet agreed delivery times
- Represent the business professionally when dealing with customers and site contacts
- Follow all relevant road transport, health and safety procedures
Skills and qualifications
- Valid Category C1 driving licence, or entitlement to drive a 7.5 tonne vehicle
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence and digital tachograph card, where required
- Previous experience driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle is preferred
- Good knowledge of Wakefield and surrounding areas
- Safe, careful and responsible approach to driving
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physically able to handle deliveries safely
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
