The role
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for making safe and timely deliveries to customers and sites. You will use your HIAB experience to load, unload and position materials safely, while maintaining high standards of service and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Complete local and regional deliveries safely and efficiently
- Operate the vehicle-mounted HIAB crane when required
- Load, secure and unload building materials
- Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately
- Communicate professionally with customers and site contacts
- Follow health and safety, transport and road legislation
- Keep the vehicle clean and report any defects promptly
Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence
- Current Driver CPC and digital tachograph card
- HIAB experience and relevant certification
- Previous delivery driving experience, ideally within a builders' merchant, construction or similar environment
- Good knowledge of road safety and safe load handling
- Reliable, punctual and customer-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
