Key responsibilities
- Assist with the safe and efficient operation of a household recycling centre
- Help keep the site clean, tidy and free from obstructions
- Support the correct separation and movement of recyclable materials
- Provide helpful, polite assistance to members of the public when required
- Follow site procedures, health and safety guidance and environmental requirements
- Report hazards, spillages, damaged equipment or other issues promptly
- Carry out general duties to support the smooth running of the site
Skills and qualifications
- A reliable and responsible approach to work
- Good awareness of health and safety
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically able to carry out active, practical duties
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Previous experience in recycling, waste management, site operations or a similar environment would be useful, but is not essential
