The role
An opportunity is available for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to support daytime transport operations in and around Stroud. You will be responsible for completing deliveries safely, efficiently and in line with legal and operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Driving HGV Class 1 vehicles on planned delivery routes
- Completing vehicle checks before and after journeys
- Loading and unloading goods safely, using a taillift where required
- Securing loads and maintaining product integrity during transit
- Completing delivery paperwork and recording relevant information
- Communicating professionally with transport teams, sites and delivery contacts
- Following road safety, company and customer procedures
Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence
- Relevant professional driving experience
- Experience using a taillift
- Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations
- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach
- Clear communication and professional customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
