The opportunity
A temporary Drivers Mate is required to support furniture deliveries in and around Reading. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is reliable, physically capable and comfortable working as part of a delivery team.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting the driver with loading and unloading furniture
- Helping to deliver furniture safely to customers’ homes
- Carrying items carefully and supporting placement or assembly where required
- Checking that goods are handled securely and protected during transit
- Providing polite and professional customer service
- Following instructions, health and safety procedures and delivery schedules
- Keeping the vehicle and work areas tidy
Skills and qualifications
- No formal qualifications are specified for this role
- Good physical fitness and the ability to lift and move furniture safely
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team
- A positive and helpful attitude
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to follow instructions and work responsibly
