The role
As a Drivers Mate, you will work alongside the delivery driver to help complete deliveries safely, efficiently and professionally. You will assist with loading and unloading furniture, help carry items into customers’ homes and support the driver throughout the daily delivery schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading furniture
- Help deliver and position items safely
- Support the driver with navigation and delivery planning
- Handle furniture carefully to prevent damage
- Communicate politely and professionally with customers
- Follow manual handling and workplace safety procedures
- Keep the vehicle and delivery equipment clean and organised
Skills and qualifications
- Reliable, punctual and willing to work day shifts
- Able to work well as part of a two-person delivery team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Physically able to lift and move furniture safely
- A careful and responsible approach to handling goods
- Previous delivery, warehouse or furniture experience would be useful, but is not essential
