We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-owned commercial vehicle specialist with a strong reputation for specialising in commercial vehicle maintenance and fleet support. Following continued growth and investment, they are looking to strengthen their team at their modern workshop facility in Ipswich.
The Role
Working within a busy and professional workshop environment, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing vans and light commercial vehicles, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship and customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Carrying out inspections, service routines, and repairs
- Diagnose and find faults in a wide variety of vehicles
- Carry out thorough vehicle inspections in line with the 'O' licence requirements
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient workshop
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and presentation for test
- Work with service and parts staff in order to ensure the efficient progress of work through our workshops
- Obtain diagnostic and repair information
- Interpret diagnostic information/readouts and use wiring diagrams effectively
- Use a range of diagnostic equipment. Report faults using company procedures and recommend suitable further actions
- Be able to follow recognised/manufacturer repair processes and complete a wide range of repairs some of which will include complex procedures.
- Test the function of repaired and fitted components
- Adhere to business processes and complete documentation following workplace procedures
What We're Looking For
- Qualified HGV Technician, Vehicle Technician or similar
- Apprentice trained or equivalent qualifications preferred
- Alternatively, a minimum of five years' relevant industry experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Positive attitude and team-focused approach
- Reliable, professional and eager to develop new skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- HGV license is an advantage
