Poultry Farm Operative – Early Morning Shifts

Location: Rural area (driving required)

Hours: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri | 4:00–6:00am starts | ~10-hour shifts (paid hours only)

Pay: £13.45/hour | Weekly pay | 1-hour break (30 mins paid, 30 mins unpaid)

Start: Immediate start – no interviews

Contract: Temp to perm – 60 shifts

Role Overview

Join our poultry farm team with no prior experience needed – full training provided. Work across multiple departments including egg processing, incubation, hatching, and chick handling. First day starts at 4:30am for training.

Key tasks:

  • Unloading eggs and placing on conveyor belts
  • Sorting eggs by fertility
  • Jet-washing and moving cages
  • Sorting chicks by gender and assisting in vaccination
  • Preparing boxes and loading vehicles

You’ll rotate between 4–5 departments, keeping work varied and engaging.

Requirements

  • No contact with chickens in the past 21 days or at home
  • Comfortable working around turkeys and pheasants
  • Must be okay seeing deceased animals (all handled ethically)
  • Reliable and able to drive to a rural site
