The RoleAs a Trade Counter Operative, your responsibilities will include:
- Serving customers in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
- Handling customer orders and enquiries on a daily basis
- Providing product information and assisting customers with their requirements
- Processing sales and maintaining accurate records
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Managing your own customer accounts and internal ledger
- Developing relationships with key suppliers
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure customers receive an excellent service
- Maintaining high standards of health and safety within the branch
- Supporting the wider branch team with day-to-day operations
About You
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
- Confident dealing with customers face-to-face and over the telephone
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Reliable, flexible and hardworking
- Organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Ambitious and keen to develop their career
- Experienced in sales, customer service or a similar trade environment
- Previous experience managing customer accounts or a sales ledger would be an advantage, although full training can be provided for the right candidate
