The role
We are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join a night-shift operation in Chesterfield on a temporary basis. You will be responsible for completing deliveries safely, efficiently and on time while maintaining high standards of customer service and vehicle care.
Key responsibilities
- Driving an HGV Class 1 vehicle on planned delivery routes
- Completing night-time deliveries and collections
- Carrying out vehicle checks before and after each shift
- Ensuring loads are secure and handled correctly
- Operating refrigerated equipment as required
- Completing delivery paperwork and using digital tachograph systems
- Communicating professionally with depot teams and customers
- Following road safety, transport and site procedures
Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence, also known as LGV CE
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Valid digital tachograph driver card
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred
- Experience in chilled or temperature-controlled distribution is advantageous
- Good knowledge of UK roads and transport regulations
- Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently
- Professional approach and good communication skills
