The role
As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for carrying out local deliveries safely and efficiently, completing vehicle checks, securing loads and following agreed delivery schedules. You will maintain accurate delivery paperwork, communicate professionally at delivery locations and report any vehicle or delivery issues promptly.
Key responsibilities
• Driving an HGV Class 2 vehicle in line with road and site safety requirements
• Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Delivering materials to scheduled locations
• Following delivery instructions and customer-site procedures
• Completing relevant paperwork and maintaining accurate records
• Representing the business professionally while working on the road
Skills and qualifications
• Valid HGV Class 2 licence
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
• Valid digital tachograph card
• Previous Class 2 driving experience preferred
• Good knowledge of road safety and vehicle checks
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious approach
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage delivery schedules
