The local operation supports the movement of steel materials and related products, making safe, reliable delivery an important part of its day-to-day service. The role You will be responsible for completing steel deliveries safely, efficiently and professionally. The role may involve:
- Driving an HGV Class 1 vehicle on planned delivery routes
- Delivering steel products to customers and designated locations
- Completing vehicle checks before departure
- Ensuring loads are secure and handled in line with safety requirements
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately
- Maintaining good communication with the transport and site teams
- Representing the business professionally when making deliveries Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving entitlement
- Relevant Driver CPC and tachograph compliance
- Previous experience delivering steel or similar heavy materials
- Good understanding of load security and safe delivery procedures
- Reliable, punctual and safety-focused approach
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work independently and follow delivery instructions
