Key responsibilities
- Drive an HGV Class 2 vehicle safely and responsibly
- Complete planned deliveries and collections
- Carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift
- Secure loads correctly and follow safe loading procedures
- Complete delivery paperwork and obtain relevant signatures
- Communicate professionally with customers, site contacts and colleagues
- Follow all road, health and safety requirements
- Report any vehicle defects, delays or delivery issues promptly
Skills and qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence, also known as Category C
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Valid digital tachograph card
- Good knowledge of UK roads and safe driving practices
- A responsible, punctual and professional approach
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Previous experience in a Class 2 driving role is desirable
