Salary: £35,000 per annum

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, typically 45 hours per week (maximum 50 hours)

Holiday: 23 Days + Pension

Workchain is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join a busy and well-established transport and logistics operation in the NG13 area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on warehouse professional with supervisory experience to play a key role in driving operational efficiency within a fast-paced distribution environment.

The Role

You will work closely with management to oversee daily warehouse operations, supervise warehouse staff, and ensure freight is processed safely, efficiently, and on time. The operation handles high volumes of palletised freight each day, with responsibilities including vehicle loading and unloading, container devanning, freight preparation, and general warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support the warehouse team on a daily basis
  • Assist management with workflow planning and task allocation
  • Oversee yard activities, including vehicle unloading and reloading
  • Liaise effectively with warehouse administration and management teams
  • Maintain productivity levels and ensure operational deadlines are achieved
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Support container devanning and freight handling activities
  • Monitor and improve warehouse efficiencies

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a warehouse and transport environment
  • Experience leading or supervising warehouse teams
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to work
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • A valid Counterbalance FLT Licence (up to 3 tonnes)
  • First Aid training or refresher courses can be provided following successful appointment.
