We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Social Media Executive, who lives and breathes social media and is ready to make a big impact on our digital presence. You will work closely with the Senior Social Media Manager being at the forefront of our social media strategy, helping us engage with our audience like never before.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
The primary focus for this role is to manage the execution of various social media marketing initiatives to grow our social media following and digital presence. The Senior Social Media Executive will work with our social media team to drive forward Debenhams’s social media presence, producing visual social media content and engaging with our audience. Our ideal candidate is a social media obsessed with a strong understanding of social media and core marketing concepts, and who can develop creative ways to generate buzz on social. They will understand the nuances between the key social platforms with an ability to adjust content and tone of voice accordingly. The role is carried out in support of the overall marketing strategy and goals. This involves closely liaising with the communications and brand teams to ensure content is social first and in keeping with our brand identity along with KPIs for driving traffic to the website and increase sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Social Commerce: Support the setup, execution and delivery of social commerce activity across platforms, including TikTok Shop and Live formats, ensuring products, creators and content are optimised for conversion. Execute TikTok Live shopping events end-to-end, including set-up, coordination with creators and real-time optimisation. Take ownership of day-to-day TikTok Shop and Live activity, working closely with the Social Lead to build and scale this area. Work closely with internal teams and partners to deliver high-quality, commercially effective Live and Shop moments.
- Content: Support the Social Media Manager in creating, planning and delivering social media plans across all social media channels, including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and YouTube. Be an expert in content creation, everything from editing to content ideation. Maintain our social media channels with fresh new content by organizing and coordinating all necessary assets, liaising with various departments across the business, freelancers, agencies and third parties and delegating to other members of the team where necessary. Assist in execution of new initiatives to help grow the social fan base across all of our channels, including building relationships with external brands for prize giveaways. Remain proactive across all new emerging technologies, channels, tools and trends. Participate in the development of social media strategies and key programming throughout the year. Assist in general social media and digital responsibilities including special projects with influencers and talent to gather content and strengthen the relationship.
- Reporting: Update and distribute weekly reporting on our social media platforms and our competitors. Conduct regular competitor research to ensure Debenhams’s social media strategy remains ahead of the competitive set.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Your Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- 3 years minimum experience working in a Social Media role on socials, at a PR / Content / Media agency or brand.
- Proven hands-on experience delivering TikTok Shop and/or Live shopping activity, ideally within a beauty, fashion or retail environment.
- Confident presenting and featuring in content where appropriate, acting as a credible and authentic face of the brand.
- Comfortable both behind and in front of the camera, supporting the creation of engaging social content.
- Proven track record of delivering successful social campaigns and hitting business KPIs.
- Strong understanding of the nuances of different social platforms and the ways audiences consume content on them.
- Strong image and short form video editing skills, including how to shoot and edit within TikTok.
- Experience in creating social media proposals across BAU and campaigns.
- Good analytical understanding to organise and interpret data. Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic understanding of Google Analytics.
- Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace; Flexible and adaptable to change.
- Strong relationship builder; Communicates effectively to achieve the goals of the social media team along with the wider marketing team.
