We are hiring on behalf of our client, an elite, high-growth software development organization seeking a highly experienced Staff Platform Engineer. The employer is a major technical contributor to one of the largest and fastest-growing crypto social networks globally, with platforms generating substantial revenue and transaction volume. This is a critical, high-leverage 0-to-1 opportunity. The successful candidate will join a team of elite builders to take the production platform from its foundational stages to global scale. There is no legacy estate to inherit; this role is responsible for making the core architectural decisions, defining how the engineering team ships code safely, and building a highly reliable, multi-region environment designed to handle immense scale and financial-grade security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foundational Architecture: Lead the platform from zero to production and beyond, making foundational infrastructure decisions and scaling systems pragmatically as the platform grows.
  • Deployment & CI/CD Ownership: Define the deployment pipeline and ownership path from commit to safe, observable production deployment, maximizing velocity across the broader engineering team.
  • Reliability & Continuity: Design and test robust, multi-region failover and recovery systems to guarantee high availability and system continuity for high-stakes transaction processing.
  • Security & Compliance: Embed robust security, access controls, secrets management, encryption, and audit trails directly into the infrastructure foundations to meet strict regulatory standards from day one.
  • Data & Observability: Own the underlying data and event backbone required for transactional correctness, alongside the observability stack needed for rapid, real-time issue detection and resolution.

Requirements

  • Proven Engineering Depth: A hybrid background as both an expert infrastructure engineer and a strong software engineer. Competency extends beyond writing configuration and glue to reviewing and writing high-quality production application code.
  • 0-to-1 Experience: Prior experience building foundational infrastructure systems from scratch, with a clear understanding of the long-term impact of early architectural choices.
  • Production Operations: Proven track record running highly available, multi-region production systems with real-world experience managing on-call rotations, incidents, and post-mortems.
  • Risk Judgment: Exceptional ability to balance velocity with risk, knowing when to move fast and when to introduce rigorous controls.
  • Tooling Fluency: Deep familiarity with modern cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks, orchestrators, and data streaming systems, alongside the adaptability to master new technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Security Engineering: Hands-on experience with application or infrastructure security engineering.
  • Digital Assets: Familiarity with or exposure to the crypto/Web3 ecosystem and comfort operating infrastructure within this domain.
  • Technical Leadership: A history of elevating team standards through tooling, documentation, and technical mentorship.

Benefits

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Token / Equity Allocation

Interview Process

  • Recruiter / HR Screening Call
  • Hiring Manager Interview: This stage includes a live technical evaluation via Coderpad; candidates should be prepared for a live coding exercise.
  • Founder / CEO Interview

How to prepare for a job interview at Workable

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Workable uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
