The Project: As we continue our high growth phase, we are looking to recruit a Senior Buyer into a newly created role within Indra Group UK & Ireland. The position will report directly to the international Procurement Head, with a dotted line to the UK Country Director.
Role overview: We are looking for a person with a strong work ethic, analytical skills, proven negotiation abilities, and knowledge of the UK market. We are looking for someone who is well experienced in Procurement and although not essential, experience in the technical and/or IT environment is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute Indra’s procurement strategies and plans in the region, according to the business objectives and needs in the area.
- Search for, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers according to the above needs and in line with the guidelines for each product/service category from the Category Management team in Madrid.
- Establish the necessary relationships to provide the business with the Partners and potential suppliers required to meet the purchasing needs.
- Ensure coordination with the Supplier Risk team for the risk analyses required by the Company’s Governance, both for new and existing suppliers.
- Manage and develop relationships with existing suppliers, monitoring their performance (quality, responsiveness, etc.) and handling any difficulties or issues that may arise.
- Work and collaborate with business teams to understand their needs and requirements and seek the best purchasing solutions to meet those needs.
- Once business needs are identified and agreed upon, prepare and lead the necessary sourcing processes to address those needs.
- Negotiate with suppliers the agreements that guarantee the coverage of these needs under the best conditions for Indra’s business (prices, deadlines, payment terms, guarantees, and other conditions).
- Prepare the necessary documents to record agreements with suppliers (orders, contracts, etc.), coordinating with the legal department when necessary.
- Know the activity market, both in terms of technology, product, and supplier, to identify trends, market conditions, and anticipate possible risks and opportunities.
- Supervise the service levels provided by suppliers for projects.
- Periodically evaluate supplier performance and monitor/ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Seek, identify, and realize savings opportunities and apply strategies to optimize business operations from a procurement perspective.
- Report to Indra headquarters according to corporate Governance requirements.
- Collaborate with Audit (internal and external) when required.
Requirements:
- Experience as a buyer is required (c.5 years).
- Experience in buying technical materials/services and IT software and hardware is highly desirable.
- Technical background or experience, either academical or obtained through working extensively in a technical environment (IT or electronic-related).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal management skills to create and maintain strong relationships with both internal clients and suppliers/third parties.
- Analytical mindset, with the ability to analyse complex problems and specific situations involving multiple parties.
- Resourceful and creative in problem-solving.
- High negotiation skills with third parties and internal clients.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to undertake and complete multiple tasks on time.
- Knowledge and use of SAP and SAP Ariba software and tools.
- Experience in negotiation and contract closure, using legal support when needed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with special attention to continuous improvement.
