This role is a graduate opportunity to join the central operations team of a leading London Market insurance syndicate, supporting the smooth running of core processes that underpin underwriting and policy administration.

You will sit at the heart of the operation, helping to coordinate and quality‑check critical data and documentation flows between internal teams and external market stakeholders, ensuring work moves through the lifecycle accurately, consistently and on time.

This is a highly operational role: you will develop a strong understanding of how a London Market syndicate runs day to day, and how well‑designed processes, controls and data discipline enable effective underwriting and client service.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting the central operations team with day‑to‑day processing and control activities, helping to keep core workflows moving efficiently across the syndicate.
  • Reviewing and validating key operational data and documentation, ensuring information is complete, consistent and correctly captured in line with internal standards.
  • Monitoring the status of ongoing tasks and submissions, escalating delays or issues, and helping stakeholders stay on top of upcoming actions and deadlines.
  • Assisting with the investigation and resolution of operational queries from internal teams and market counterparties, maintaining clear, professional communication throughout.
  • Contributing to internal reporting and control checks, helping the team evidence data quality, operational discipline and adherence to agreed procedures.
  • Identifying patterns in recurring issues and suggesting pragmatic improvements to simplify, standardise or de‑risk existing ways of working.

Requirements

  • Strong aptitude for learning and genuine interest in how complex operational environments work.
  • Confident working with data in Excel (e. g. lookups, pivots, basic reconciliation logic) and comfortable learning new systems quickly.
  • Methodical, detail‑oriented and reliable, with pride in producing accurate work first time.
  • Able to manage your own workload, juggle multiple tasks and deliver to fixed monthly and quarterly deadlines.
  • Clear, professional communicator who can build effective working relationships with colleagues across operations, underwriting and other central functions.
