Ripjar was founded by veterans of GCHQ to bring national security-grade intelligence tools to the fight against financial crime. Financial crime funds human trafficking, terrorism, corruption and sanctions evasion on a global scale, and the organisations on the front line need technology built to match the threat. Today, Ripjar's AI-native software and data fusion products are used by governments, the world's largest banks, and global enterprises to automate the detection, investigation and monitoring of serious financial crime. Every day, hundreds of customers and thousands of daily active users rely on the platform to screen hundreds of millions of names for risk in real time, prevent money laundering and stop terrorist financing. If you want your work to matter, this is where it happens. We are a remote first team, with a head office based in Cheltenham. This position is open to UK wide candidates. If you are based near Cheltenham, you are more than welcome to work from our office at any time.
Team Mission: Our mission is to elevate brand awareness and drive revenue growth through innovative marketing strategies that captivate audiences, foster customer loyalty and amplify the influence of our brand in the marketplace.
The Role: Reporting into our VP of Marketing, you'll be a key driver enabling our commercial performance at Ripjar, owning the execution of marketing activity across the full funnel and working closely with key stakeholders in the business. You'll be the engine behind our commercial operations, turning strategy into action and helping the business grow. What makes this role different from a traditional commercial ops hire is the profile we're looking for. We want someone who thinks like an engineer, someone who is energised by tools, automation, and finding smarter ways to get things done. Someone who is as comfortable setting up a CRM workflow or debugging a webhook as they are briefing a campaign or reviewing copy. Therefore internal title for this role is Growth Engineer Commercial Operations.
What you'll be doing:
- Own the day-to-day execution of marketing campaigns across email, paid, content, and events working closely with our agencies.
- Build, manage, and continuously optimise our sales and marketing tech stack, including CRM, automation, analytics, LLMs and AI-driven tools.
- Act as the internal interface between the business and our agency partners, gathering briefs, extracting knowledge from subject matter experts, and translating it into campaign-ready material and paid campaigns.
- Proactively identify opportunities to automate sales and marketing tasks and implement solutions using AI and no-code/low-code tooling.
- Build Ripjar’s knowledge graph and develop new marketing and operational skills.
- Track, report, and act on performance data, owning key sales and marketing metrics and making decisions confidently based on what the data shows.
- Stay ahead of the curve on AI-powered marketing tools and bring new capabilities into the team's workflow.
Requirements
Essential:
- Experience in marketing, growth, or marketing operations role or a technical role with significant marketing exposure.
- A genuine interest in or background in software engineering, systems thinking, or technical problem-solving.
- Confident working with marketing tools across CRM, automation, analytics, and paid; you don't need to know every tool on day one, but you pick them up fast.
- Experience owning end to end Marketo (or similar) campaign execution and reporting/analysis. Demonstrable experience working with AI tools and integrating AI into workflows.
- Demonstrable familiarity with HTML/CSS, SQL, APIs.
- Strong stakeholder management skills - able to chase busy people diplomatically, extract what you need, and move campaigns forward without getting stuck.
- Confident decision-maker: you default to action, communicate clearly when you're uncertain, and don't wait for perfect information.
- Strong written communication; you can write crisp briefs, clear copy, and sharp emails.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, regtech, or a similarly technical industry.
- Experience managing relationships with external agencies.
- Exposure to account-based marketing (ABM) strategies.
- Experience in a startup or scale-up environment where you've had to be resourceful and self-directed.
Technical Skills: We don't prescribe a fixed stack, part of this role is helping us build and evolve it. That said, you should be comfortable across tools like:
- CRM & Automation: Salesforce, or similar.
- Email & Campaigns: Marketo, or similar.
- Analytics: Google Analytics, Looker, or similar dashboarding tools.
- AI Tools: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or others; we want someone actively experimenting.
- No-code / Workflow integrations: Zapier, Make, Notion, Airtable.
- Ads: Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager.
Benefits:
- £45,000 - £55,000 base salary, depending on experience.
- Remote working with occasional travel.
- 25 days annual leave + your birthday off, rising to 30 days after 5 years of service.
- 35 hour working week.
- Flexible working hours.
- Life assurance.
- Private Family Healthcare.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
