Further to recent organisational growth, we have an exciting opportunity for Self Employed General Practitioners to join our forward thinking team to work at our Urgent Care Centre in Keynsham. Whether you are looking to supplement your existing commitments or prefer the structure of evening, overnight, or weekend work, we are able to offer a range of shift patterns to suit your availability.

About the role

As an Independent, autonomous Clinician working to support our mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centred services, you will work as part of our multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and timely care to those accessing our Integrated Urgent Care Service. We provide a variety of shift opportunities to include:

  • Face-to-face shifts based at Keynsham Health Centre.
  • Mobile shifts undertaking home visits to patients who are unable to travel to a primary care centre, supported with a fully-equipped medical car.

Our Sessional GPs are able to work flexibly at each base covering all aspects of our Urgent Care service, inclusive of telephone triage, face-to-face patient appointments and attending patient home visits. We operate an appointment only system which is managed centrally by our dedicated team of Coordinators.

The key elements of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Working as an autonomous practitioner providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult and paediatric patients invited to attend our Primary Care Centres or during remote consultations.
  • Accurately triaging & prioritising all patients.
  • Undertaking home visits to patients who are unable to travel to a primary care centre, supported with a fully-equipped medical car and driver.
  • Referring patients to alternative care settings when appropriate.
  • Supporting the Care Coordination Centre Single Point of Access.
  • Supporting with triage of calls that have come via the NHS111 pathway or the dedicated Healthcare Professional line.

Please note that the support of a senior clinician is always available during your shift.

About you:

  • Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Medical Performers List
  • Up-to-date indemnity including cover for Urgent Unscheduled Care.
  • Experience in urgent or Out of Hours settings (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Adastra (preferred)
  • A calm, methodical approach to clinical decision-making
  • The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of clinical governance and patient care

This role is well-suited to GPs who value autonomy, enjoy clinical variety and are looking to contribute meaningfully to patient care during evenings, weekends, and overnight periods.
