The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Shunter Driver (With Class 1) to join our client's team in Nottinghamshire (NG22). In this role, you will be crucial to ensuring the efficient and safety in moving the vehicles and trailers within their yard, contributing to a smooth flow with their operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently manoeuvre articulated and rigid vehicles within a busy yard environment.
- Connect and disconnect trailers to and from tractor units.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Ensure trailers are correctly positioned for loading and unloading operations.
- Maintain a tidy and safe working environment within the yard.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with yard staff, drivers, and relevant personnel.
- Complete any necessary paperwork accurately.
- Assist with other yard-related tasks as required.
About You:
- Hold a valid Class 1 driving licence (Needed).
- Proven experience as a Shunter Driver or in a similar role involving yard movements of HGVs.
- A Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance) would be an advantage but not always essential.
