About the Role
We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy, well-established nursery in Watford. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive starting salary of £45,000 per year and provides an excellent opportunity to lead a team in a nurturing, high-quality childcare environment. The nursery has been carefully designed to create a bright, engaging, and stimulating setting for children aged 6 months to 5 years, with a focus on individual learning and development. This role is ideal for a confident leader who is dedicated to ensuring outstanding care and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
- Lead and support staff teams to deliver high-quality childcare and education aligned with the EYFS framework.
- Develop and maintain positive partnerships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Oversee curriculum planning, assessments, and observations to support children’s learning and development.
- Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted regulations.
- Manage staffing schedules, training, and supervision to ensure effective team performance.
- Monitor occupancy, fee collection, and administrative tasks to meet KPIs and financial goals.
- Organise parent meetings, events, and regular communication, including newsletters.
- Promote the nursery’s aims and objectives, acting as a role model for staff and maintaining high standards at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- A Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years (Level 5 preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in a nursery leadership or management role.
- Strong working knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted standards, safeguarding, and child protection.
- Exceptional leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and confidence in building relationships with parents and professionals.
- Montessori experience or training is an advantage (training opportunities are available).
