Job Description Plant Fitter - HGV \n Bridgend \n Up to £20 per hour (depending on experience) \n An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Fitter / Mechanic to join a busy workshop team. This role is primarily focused on the maintenance and repair of a modern fleet of heavy goods vehicles and associated plant machinery \n This position is ideal for a skilled mechanic who takes pride in delivering high quality workmanship while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance. \n Key Responsibilities \n \n Diagnose, service, and repair HGVs and associated plant equipment. \n Carry out Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) on fleet vehicles. \n Identify and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults. \n Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and statutory inspections. \n Accurately record repairs, defects, and workshop time. \n Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant workshop environment, including adherence to COSHH regulations. \n Liaise with the Workshop Manager regarding parts and stock. \n Provide technical support and advice regarding vehicle defects and breakdowns. \n \n Skills & Experience \n \n Proven experience as an HGV Fitter, HGV Technician, or HGV Mechanic. \n Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. \n Sound knowledge of HGV systems, including engines, braking systems, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems. \n Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. \n Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring schematics. \n Full UK Driving Licence is essential. \n \n What's on Offer \n \n Competitive hourly rate based on experience. \n Stable, full-time position within a well equipped workshop. \n Opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet. \n Supportive team environment with opportunities for ongoing development and training. \n \n If you are an experienced HGV Technician looking for your next challenge and want to join a professional team where your skills are valued, we would love to hear from you. \n \n JBRP1_UKTJ
