Management Accountant

Maesteg

Salary: to £40k

Were looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our clients finance team. This role plays a key part in producing accurate and timely financial information, supporting the Financial Control Manager and wider business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Trial Balance with supporting analysis and commentary.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns.
  • Post and reconcile intercompany balances and salary journals.
  • Manage prepayments, accruals, and fixed asset registers.
  • Support month-end, year-end, and audit processes.
  • Run monthly stock reports and analyse stock usage.
  • Produce bank reconciliations and explain key cash movements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ESG reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes.

Skills & Experience

  • Confident in independently preparing a full Trial Balance.
  • Experience with ERP systems and journal postings.
  • Strong understanding of VAT returns and intercompany accounting.
  • Familiar with audit preparation and year-end processes.
  • Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or AAT qualified.
  • Part-qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent)
