Do you have experience selling ingredients to the food and drink manufacturing sector? We are interested in talking to Business Development Managers and New Business focused Sales Representatives from this sector, looking for an exciting new challenge.

The Company

Based in Anglesey, Halen Môn was founded in 1997 by David Lea-Wilson MBE and Alison Lea-Wilson MBE. Halen Môn is a highly successful family run B-Corp business with a global reputation for producing world class, award winning, highest quality sea salt, smoked water, condiments and food products.

The role reporting to the General Manager is a brand new, full-time, permanent position focusing on creating new business channels within the food manufacturing sector.

The Role

The purpose of the role is to develop and further commercialise Halen Môn’s products as scalable ingredients by building long-term relationships with food and drink manufacturers, assisting customers through technical trials and NPD, and converting approved formulations into repeat commercial supply. This full-time permanent position will provide a remote working opportunity for the successful applicant. An initial period of on-site training will be required as well as regular Teams meetings and planned on-site meetings at Halen Môn’s premises on Anglesey. You will report directly to the General Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Create and execute a sales plan focused on new business acquisition
  • Identify and qualify ingredient buyers, NPD teams and technical decision-makers
  • Introduce our ingredients into relevant product applications
  • Manage customers through trial, approval and commercialisation stages
  • Work closely with technical and operations teams to support trials
  • Convert approved ingredients into repeat, growing commercial orders
  • Produce complete and timely sales reports
  • Research competitor activity and market developments

Requirements

The successful applicant will have the following experience, skills and qualities:

  • Experience selling ingredients into manufacturing
  • A proven sales track record
  • Ability to manage long lead times
  • Sufficient technical understanding of food manufacturing to understand and propose products or solutions by focusing on the client’s requirements
  • Commercially rigorous and process-driven
  • Interested in building lasting relationships, not just “closing”
  • A results focused team player
  • Responsible and reliable
  • Good communication, negotiation and closing skills
  • Drivers license and own car
  • Ability to work on one’s own, managing one’s time efficiently; self-motivated
  • Strategic and creative mind
  • Ability to deliver compelling presentations
  • Excellent written skills
  • IT literate
