We are working with a long standing client who is looking to appoint an experienced Purchasing Manager to join their established team to coordinate procurement and supply chain for a Cardiff based SME

This is a key role within the business, responsible for managing supplier relationships, sourcing new suppliers and ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing, while maintaining appropriate stock levels and achieving strong commercial results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop existing supplier relationships and source new suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, quality, delivery terms and contracts.
  • Develop supply chain resilience and minimise single-source dependency where appropriate.
  • Ensure materials are available on time to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Manage purchasing budgets, stock levels and purchasing forecasts.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality and contractual issues.
  • Manage purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing and stock records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, delivery and supply continuity.
  • Ensure procurement activity complies with company policies and financial governance requirements.
  • Lead, support and develop purchasing/procurement team members.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, finance, projects and other internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to procurement strategy, specifications, tenders and project teams.

About You

The successful candidate will have proven experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management, ideally within a manufacturing or technically focused environment.
