Work Strata Group are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics client for an experienced Transport Manager to join their growing operation located in SR8. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and operationally focused Transport Manager to join a fast-paced transport and logistics business where you will play a key role in driving efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.
The Role:
You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of transport operations, ensuring legal compliance, operational efficiency, and outstanding customer service across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who can confidently manage drivers, fleet compliance, KPIs and operational planning while maintaining high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all transport operations and fleet activity
- Ensure full O Licence and transport compliance
- Manage driver performance, training, and development
- Lead and motivate the transport team
- Monitor vehicle maintenance and fleet roadworthiness
- Ensure compliance with driver hours and transport legislation
- Improve operational efficiency and reduce operating costs
- Work closely with the warehouse and operational teams
- Manage KPIs, budgets and service performance
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Transport Manager or similar senior transport role
- CPC Qualification essential
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and compliance
- Experience managing drivers and fleet operations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Commercial awareness with a focus on operational performance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Strong IT and transport systems knowledge
