We are WR Fundraising Recruitment and we are delighted to be working on a newly created Head of Fundraising & Communications role for a much loved animal welfare charity. We’re looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Fundraising & Communications to join the charity at a pivotal point in its journey. This is a significant new senior leadership role, created to lead a newly formed team and drive a step-change in income, awareness and engagement. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll integrate income generation, brand, marketing, communications and engagement into a single, high-performing function. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, we’re looking for someone at ease with developing and implementing overall operational strategy in conjunction to your own department.

Full Time
Reigate & Banstead, Surrey – Onsite with limited hybrid working
£50,000 – £55,000 per annum
A full Driving Licence and access to a vehicle are essential

Duties:

  • Leading and developing a multi-disciplinary income, marketing and engagement team
  • Creating and delivering an integrated income generation and engagement strategy
  • Driving growth across individual giving, trusts, corporate partnerships, events, retail and legacies
  • Overseeing marketing, communications, PR and supporter engagement activity
  • Managing and growing the charity’s trading subsidiary
  • Using insight, data and evaluation to inform strategy and performance
  • Supporting volunteers with fundraising, brand and engagement activity
  • Ensuring best practice, compliance and excellent supporter experience

Ideal candidate:

  • Have senior-level experience across income generation, marketing and communications
  • Have a proven track record of growing income in a charity environment
  • Be experienced in building and leading high-performing teams
  • Be confident setting and delivering ambitious financial targets
  • Have strong budget management and forecasting skills
  • Be an excellent communicator, comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels
  • Be resilient, proactive and calm under pressure
  • Experience of working with boards, media engagement, volunteers or trading subsidiaries would be advantageous.
